Welcome to Old Silkstone!

Old Silkstone Band caters for many different musical requirements from traditional programmes to more contemporary performances. As well as being available for engagements, the band hosts its own concerts at the Penistone Paramount and holds a popular March and Hymn Tune Contest in the village each July.

The band was founded in 1861, by Coniah Stringer and will be celebrating its 150 years anniversary in 2011. Based in Silkstone, South Yorkshire, the band competes at regional and national contests and after a series of good results will be returning to Yorkshire Area Championship status from January 2010 in time for its 150th year in 2011.
